A young man, by approaching him from behind, tried to rob a policeman of his gun at a Budapest bus terminal. There is a surreal footage of his colleagues disabling and arresting the attacker.
According to Blikk, as soon as the man managed to grab the gun, the policeman realised what he was up to and stopped him in the middle. Nevertheless, it did not prevent the attacker from attempting to get hold of the gun. He kept trying to drag it out of its case.

The four other policemen who were also present at the scene swiftly rushed to their colleague’s help. They managed to disable and handcuff the man.
After arresting the 24-year-old man, it turned out that, by stealing the gun, he was planning to kill the officers who were on duty at the police car.
The Prosecutor’s Office immediately ordered his custody and a court hearing during which he was accused of attempted homicide. The defender of the man and his client denied the accusations.
Eventually, the man admitted that he indeed wanted to steal the policeman’s gun yer denied the homicide attempt. He can expect a 1-5 years prison sentence for his act, said the Prosecutor’s Office.

Broad daylight, not ‘sheer daylight’. It was sheer madness to attempt this act in broad daylight.
